Taylor County

Year Founded: 1903


Perry adopted its city charter on May 12, 1981 and is the only incorporated city in Taylor County. The city was established prior to 1885. It is presumed to have been named for General Edward A. Perry, who was governor of Florida, 1885-1889. Perry is the county seat.
