The Town of South Palm Beach is a beautiful community of 1,539 (approx.) residents located in Palm Beach County on a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Intercoastal Waterway on the west.
In 1948 two Finish brothers, Ames and Anton Aksila, visited this area and were astonished at the unspoiled 5/8 of a mile with a small two lane road between the dune and the oceans, running the length of the land. They saw the possibilities of establishing a community of apartments, hotels, restaurants and homes.
The Aksila brothers started buying land and acquiring contiguous lots from the south boundary of Palm Beach from ocean to lake, and the last lot at the north boundary of Lantana. South Palm Beach lies entirely on the coastal ridge. It’s natural beauty lends a warm and friendly ambiance.
