Pasco County

Year Founded: 1914

Eighty qualified voters decided upon incorporation of Zephyrhills in November 1914. Originally called Abbott’s Station, the community was originally incorporated as a “town.” Local legend holds that veterans of the Civil War, who named the area for the hills and zephyr-like winds, founded the town.
